Capstone Reseach Sources

            I am planning to do a capstone project on how to strategically use social media as a business tool.   I have found two books that can serve as great research sources.   The first is Likeable Social Media: How to Delight Your Customers, Create an Irresistible Brand, and Be Generally Amazing on Facebook (and Other Social Networks) by Dave Kerpen.   This book was recommended by one of my professors and attempts to explain the secret to successful word of mouth marketing online.             The other book is The Social Media Marking Book by Dan Zarella.   This book provides easy to understand introductions to different social networking sites, blogging, forums, etc.   It also says what NOT to do, which I find both helpful and interesting.             Both of th...

Potentional Capstone Project Ideas

My capstone is the most important project that I will complete while in college, so picking a topic for my project is a big decision.  I have been thinking for several weeks about it, and have been weighing all the options. I feel like most of my fellow classmates have bright ideas for their capstone projects and have known for a long time what they were going to be working on, but I'm sure there are others in my shoes. While I don't know exactly what I want my topic to be yet, I am sure that it is going to relate to public relations and/or social media.  My concentration is in strategic communications and I have spent the passed few years studying PR and social media.  I have enjoyed it thoroughly and it is something that has always been very interesting to me. Ideally, I would like to work in this field after I get my degree. As for what kind of project I am going to do, I am still unsure.
