Capstone Research Sources 4

A source that I am using for my capstone project is the Tobacco Free Grant Initiative page on the Shepherd University website.  This page includes a homepage that gives an overview of the Take STOC organization as well as other helpful tabs such as classes and resources, coalition members and structures, events, grant initiative timeline, health center, media coverage, student affairs, and West Virginia tobacco usage. All of this information was helpful to me when I was working on the background information section of capstone, especially the client analysis section, since there was a lot of information about the organization and its goals and missions.

Another source I'm going to use is this article about the West Virginia University tobacco/smoke free policy.  A big part of my research is looking into other schools that have a similar policy to the one Shepherd is adopting.  I liked the idea of researching schools close by or within the state because I feel like these are more relevant to Shepherd students and faculty than other schools across the country, even though there are tons and tons of big schools and universities I could use for a comparison.  I think it will make it more approachable, especially since many of the Shepherd goers are familiar with these instate schools, know people that attend them, or may even have attended these institutions themselves.
